Gears of War 3 is all set for a global release on September 20, 2011 and Microsoft has announced that over 20,000 stores across the globe will open their doors at midnight on Tuesday as the game goes on sale.
The US and UK fans will see special events, giveaways, exclusive launches across various retailers such as GAME, GameStation and Best Buy respectively reports MCV.
“This is by far the biggest, most polished, and most ambitious game we’ve ever made,” Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski said.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work on some big games throughout my career, but ‘Gears of War 3’ represents a crowning achievement for our team, and we can’t wait to share it with fans next Tuesday.”
Microsoft has also announced that any player who logs in to the Gears of War 3 online servers between September 20 – 26, 2011 will automatically unlock the the Golden Lancer and Golden Hammerburst weapon skins.
Gears of War 3 was accidentally sent out by a retailer in Norway earlier in the week resulting in various customers already getting their hands on the game. Read more about it here.
